On Saturday 5th May twelve-year-old Natasha Richardson of Thruxton for the second year running held a successful Bake Sale and Fun Dog Show in aid of The Humanimal Trust charity. So inspired by the charity’s purpose to drive collaboration between vets, doctors and researchers so that all humans and animals benefit from medical progress, Natasha was determined to raise further funds to add to the almost £700 total from her fundraiser in 2017.
Jo Blake, spokesperson for The Humanimal Trust, comments:
"Natasha has shown amazing dedication to our work, and tremendous skills in being able to successfully organise not one but two events of this size at her very young age. We are delighted to have inspired her with our campaign and hope that many others will follow her example. We had a wonderful time at the show, which included a raffle, opportunities to learn about more unusual pets, and of course all the fabulous cakes Natasha had baked in order to add to funds raised. She and her family should be immensely proud of what she has achieved."
Alison Richardson, Natasha’s mother, added:
"The Bake Sale and Fun Dog Show was all Natasha’s idea and all her own work. We are very grateful to the Parish Council who have agreed that she can run the show on an annual basis as they were so impressed with her organisation skills and how popular and successful the events have been."
Natasha said:
"I wanted to do something to help both humans and animals and The Humanimal Trust promote a way of human and veterinary medicine working together to achieve that. I really enjoy putting the show together and look forward to running it each year."
The event has so far raised a further £561.80 for The Humanimal Trust.
