InterNICHE is the International Network for Humane Education, an NGO working with teachers, students and campaigners to promote and implement humane, innovative tools within veterinary, medical and biology education.
What do we do?
The alternative tools we provide can enhance the acquisition of knowledge, skills and attitudes, and can replace animal experiments and dissections. InterNICHE also organises conferences, provides speakers and expertise, offers information and databases, and produces resources including documentary film to support ethical and effective teaching and learning.
What services do we offer?
InterNICHE offers a range of activities, resources and messages that can support and be applied within a One Medicine approach for a number of areas – particularly education and training, but also regarding humane research and testing.
Who can we help?
Students and teachers within higher education, particularly biology, medicine and veterinary medicine; medical practitioners and those working within continuing education and training for professional development; developers of education and training resources; and those working on the transition to humane science and the pathway from humane education to ethical careers.
How do we support One Medicine?
In the broadest sense of looking for complementarity and synergy between different areas, recognising the opportunities for mutual benefit from developments in medical and veterinary medical education, and acknowledging the value of clinical education and research opportunities instead of animal experimentation, InterNICHE aims and activities resonate with the One Medicine approach.
