Scott McRae

Scott graduated with a BVMS from Glasgow University in 1998, and after a few years in general practice, earned his PhD in 2006 from the same institution. He has been heavily involved in scientific research in both academic and commercial roles within the regenerative medicine field but returned to full time mixed general practice in Aberdeenshire in 2012 acquiring Buchan Veterinary Clinics, which he ran until its acquisition by CVS. A spell within the corporate world as a clinical director focusing on companion animal practice followed before branching out again into private practice and into teaching roles with SRUC in Aberdeen.

In addition, Scott has been involved for a number of years with the RCVS as an examiner for the statutory entrance exam and as a committee member within the RCVS disciplinary process. He maintains a strong interest in advanced reproductive techniques in the agricultural domain. Currently employed with the civil service he is a strong believer in maximising the potential of cross-species evidence based medicine as a means of advancing opportunities in clinical care.

He lives in Aberdeenshire with an ever-increasing menagerie of chickens, cats, cockapoos, and wandering peacocks.
