Humanimal Trust has announced the appointment of Fi Harrison as its new Executive Director.
Fi brings more than 25 years of experience across fundraising, communications, strategy and leadership within the charity and higher education sectors. Her career has been defined by helping charities create lasting change, building strong partnerships and delivering sustainable growth. With extensive experience spanning research, collaboration and animal welfare, Fi is well placed to lead Humanimal Trust into its next chapter.
Most recently, she worked with researchers and corporate partners at the University of Birmingham, helping to strengthen collaboration and drive meaningful impact. Prior to that, she spent five years leading fundraising and communications at Birmingham Dogs Home, championing animal welfare and organisational sustainability.
Fi said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Humanimal Trust at such an exciting point in its journey. Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about helping charities create meaningful and lasting change, and I can’t think of a more inspiring mission than advancing One Medicine for the benefit of all species.
“What excites me most about Humanimal Trust is its ambition. One Medicine has the potential to transform the future of healthcare through greater collaboration between human and veterinary medicine. I’m delighted to be joining such a passionate and dedicated team, and I’m looking forward to working with our trustees, staff, volunteers, researchers, supporters and partners to help accelerate that vision.
Dr Mary Fraser, Chair of the Board of Trustees at Humanimal Trust, said: “I am delighted to welcome Fi as our new Executive Director. Her wealth of experience in charity leadership, fundraising and partnership development, combined with her passion for animal welfare and collaborative working, make her the ideal person to help lead the charity into its next phase.
“Humanimal Trust has never been more ambitious in its mission to advance One Medicine, and I know Fi will bring the energy, expertise and vision needed to build on the strong foundations already in place and deliver even greater impact for both human and animal health.”
Outside of work, lifelong animal lover Fi is mum to one human and three dogs. She enjoys yoga, hiking, live music and festivals, and at weekends you’ll find her exploring the countryside with her dogs.
