Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity receives ‘Humanimal’ book donation

Humanimal Trust were delighted to donate copies of Humanimal to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity over the festive period, helping bring moments of joy and distraction to children and families receiving care.

Dr Mary Fraser, Chair of Trustees at Humanimal Trust, visited The Royal Hospital for Children at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital shortly before Christmas to present the books to Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

Mary said: “Humanimal Trust’s generous corporate supporters sponsored these books to enable us to distribute copies to children’s hospitals and hospices across the UK. We know Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity does incredible work supporting children and families across a range of paediatric services in the west of Scotland, and we hope these books help bring moments of joy during what can be a challenging time.”

Authored by Christopher Lloyd and illustrated by Mark Ruffle, Humanimal takes young readers aged seven to 12 on a journey of discovery, exploring the many ways animals are just like humans.

Not only does Humanimal inspire and entertain through its fascinating stories – such as bottlenose dolphins wearing sea sponges over their beaks to protect them from sharp coral and rocks – it also supports Humanimal Trust’s mission to foster a deeper understanding of the intrinsic links between all species”, Mary added.

Kirsten Watson, CEO of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Humanimal Trust for kindly donating copies of Humanimal to the children’s hospital in Glasgow. Your support is opening doors to imagination, learning and opportunity for the children and young people we support.”

Humanimal, together with the sequel We Are All Animals, is available to purchase at: www.humanimaltrust.org.uk

It is through the support of our generous corporate partners that we are able to share these books with children’s hospitals and hospices. Businesses interested in helping Humanimal Trust provide books to more children and young people in the local area and across the UK can email info@humanimaltrust.org.uk
