Humanimal Trust at the London Book Fair with The Buddyhood

This week, Humanimal Trust attended the London Book Fair alongside partners The Buddyhood Ltd, celebrating the power of storytelling to inspire change.

The event also marked the launch of ‘The Noisy Night’, the newest adventure in the Buff and Strawberry children’s book series from The Buddyhood. The books follow Buff the Highland cow and Strawberry the Shetland pony, and are designed to help young readers understand and manage big emotions through engaging stories and relatable characters.

As part of the partnership, 10% of every Buff and Strawberry book sale is donated to Humanimal Trust, helping support the charity’s mission to advance One Medicine – bringing together doctors, vets and researchers to improve health for both humans and animals.

After more than 50 years, the London Book Fair has become one of the most important events in the international publishing calendar. The fair brings together publishers, dealmakers, copyright professionals, commissioners and global licensors from across the world, creating opportunities to build relationships, share ideas and shape the future of publishing.

Humanimal Trust’s Fundraising and Partnerships Manager, Sarah Colbourne, said: “The London Book Fair is one of the most exciting gatherings in the publishing world. It’s inspiring to be surrounded by people who believe in the power of books to inform, challenge and connect us. Events like this are also a great opportunity to raise awareness for Humanimal Trust and our One Medicine mission.”

She also highlighted the important role publishing can play in raising awareness of meaningful causes. “Publishing plays a powerful role in shaping conversations, sharing knowledge and driving change. Events like the London Book Fair remind me how important storytelling and information are in advancing causes that matter.”

Buddyhood Publishing said it was proud to support the charity through its children’s book series. “The Buddyhood publishing house is all about stories with purpose,” the team said. “Through our Buff and Strawberry picture books we proudly support Humanimal Trust in their pursuit of One Medicine.”

The publisher also thanked Humanimal Trust for joining them at the event: “Thank you Humanimal Trust for helping share the brilliant work you all do in saving and changing animal and human lives. We are honoured to have you as part of our story and are so excited for our ‘Noisy Night’ book to follow ‘The Lost Hat’ to success, with more donations, awareness and support for One Medicine.” https://humanimaltrust.org.uk/businesses-schools-and-groups/

Through partnerships like this, Humanimal Trust continues to reach new audiences and highlight how collaboration – whether in medicine, research or storytelling – can help create a healthier future for both people and animals.
