Spinnaker Tower Abseil: terms and conditions

1. Eligibility

• Age: 14+ (under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian). 

• Weight: Less than 120 kg (18 stone). 

• Pregnancy: Not permitted. 

• Proof of age may be requested. 

• You must be physically able to complete the abseil safely. 

2. Safety and behaviour

• Follow all instructions from staff and abseil contractors. 

• Smoking prohibited.

• Long hair must be tied back; wear closed-toe, flat-soled shoes. 

• Loose clothing or unsafe costumes are not allowed. 

• No personal cameras allowed; only official photography permitted. 

• Unsafe or disruptive behaviour will result in ejection without refund.

3. Alcohol and substances

• Do not participate under the influence of alcohol or any substances. 

• Suspicion of impairment = no abseil, no refund. 

4. Arrival and timing

• Arrive 10 minutes before your slot. 

• Late arrivals may not be admitted; no refund. 

• Participants have 10 minutes to start the abseil at the departure point. 

5. Weather and cancellation

• Abseils run in most weather, except for extreme conditions (high winds, lightning, heavy snow/ice). 

• No refund for personal choice not to abseil or failure to meet requirements. 

6. Photography and media

• Official cameras may record your abseil. 

• By participating, you consent to your image being used in media or promotional materials worldwide. 

7. Declaration and waiver

• All participants must sign a waiver before the abseil. 

• Guardians sign for participants under 18. 

• Signing acknowledges risks and confirms that you will participate safely. 

8. Refunds

• £50 non-refundable for individual cancellations. 

• No refunds for late arrival, failing to meet requirements, or personal choice not to abseil.
