The latest round of Humanimal Trust Connections Award funding is now open to applications!
This award is the only fund of its kind dedicated to supporting small, multidisciplinary projects that build bridges between human and veterinary medicine. It is a unique opportunity for professionals and students committed to advancing human and animal medicine through collaborative research.
We recognise that opportunities to engage and develop partnerships to support One Medicine are limited, and hope that the call will support professionals and students to explore meaningful partnerships that can be built on, and that will deliver impactful projects that benefit both human and animal healthcare.
Awards launched in previous years are already helping to bring inspiring initiatives to life, including a project bringing together specialists in human and veterinary dentistry and maxillofacial surgery to explore research into diseases of the head and neck affecting all species.
This year, the £10,000 fund will be split between two innovative projects.
Humanimal Trust funds multidisciplinary research supporting the concept of One Medicine in the following areas:
- Infection control and antimicrobial resistance
- Oncology
- Musculoskeletal Disorders
- Neurology and Neurosurgery
- Regenerative medicine
- And potentially other projects, which support the concept of One Medicine including the phasing out of animal experiments
