Our GLP accredited laboratory provides ground-breaking animal-free in vitro safety and efficacy tests for global cosmetics brands, chemical companies and ingredient manufacturers.
What do we do?
XCellR8’s regulatory safety tests are entirely animal and animal-product free, allowing you to meet your regulatory requirements for establishing human safety whilst supporting growing consumer demand for vegan supply chains. With turnaround times from as little as 6 weeks, we are driven by a passionate commitment to rapid delivery and scientific excellence. Our world class expertise and award-winning work has been recognised at a regulatory level by the OECD and the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), and supported by top funding bodies such as Innovate UK and the European Horizon 2020 programme.
What services do we offer?
We provide validated alternatives to animal testing, directly supporting the One Medicine goal of eliminating laboratory animal use. Our GLP-accredited, completely animal-free testing methods demonstrate that human safety assessment can be achieved without animal harm – making animal testing progressively obsolete. We are interested in extending our human in-vitro models to veterinary applications.
Who can we help?
Our services are relevant to companies developing or manufacturing products and substances that are likely to come into human contact, including but not limited to companies in cosmetics, personal care, consumer healthcare products, household chemicals, industrial chemicals and veterinary products.
How do we support One Medicine?
One Medicine aligns with our core mission to eliminate animal testing entirely. By using human cell models instead of animal tests, we simultaneously improve human safety prediction (human medicine benefits from human-relevant data) and eliminate animal harm (veterinary/animal welfare benefits). Our work therefore directly supports One Medicine principles by developing testing methods that benefit human health assessment without animal harm. We conduct arrange of safety assessments including toxicity, irritation, sensitisation, and genotoxicity testing using human-derived cell models that better predict human responses than traditional animal tests. We also have an interest in extending new approach methodologies (NAMs) to veterinary applications.
