Ali Mobasheri is Professor of Musculoskeletal Biology at the University of Oulu in Finland, having previously held the positions of Professor of Musculoskeletal Physiology and Associate Dean for Research and Enterprise in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Surrey. His main area of research is cartilage biology, specifically cellular metabolism, ion channel physiology and biomarkers of osteoarthritis.
He also holds several other positions including Chief Researcher and International Advisor at the State Research Institute Centre for Innovative Medicine in Vilnius, Lithuania, Visiting Professor at Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China and Advisor to the World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Public Health Aspects of Musculoskeletal Health and Aging, Université de Liège, Liège, Belgium.
Professor Mobasheri is passionate about One Health and One Medicine, and sees many connections between nature, plants and human medicine.
