Dr. Ranjan is an Endowed Professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University, USA. He also serves as the Director of the Institute for Translational and Emerging Research in Advanced Comparative Therapy (INTERACT). Dr. Ranjan obtained his BVSc degree (DVM equivalent) from Madras Veterinary College, Chennai, India, and earned a PhD in Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences from Virginia Tech. Following this, he completed a Visiting Fellowship at the Center for Interventional Oncology, Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Dr. Ranjan's research interests lie in the application of device-directed nanoparticles for solid tumor chemo-immunotherapy. His lab is actively involved in preclinical and bench-to-bedside veterinary clinical trials, and has received funding from various federal, state and private sources. He has received numerous awards in recent years, including the NIH Merit, OSU distinguished faculty, regents research and president’s fellow awards.
Dr. Ranjan also serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of Focused Ultrasound Foundation, Humanimal Trust and NIH panels. He is interested in translating research in order to improve comparative medicine. He is a keen supporter of One Medicine as his own work is fuelled by the desire to create therapeutics that will eventually improve animal and human health.
