Humanimal Trust donates books to Evelina London Children’s Hospital

Children at Evelina London Children’s Hospital have been given the opportunity to learn about the remarkable similarities between humans and animals as we presented ten copies of the children’s book, Humanimal, to the London hospital.

Authored by Christopher Lloyd and illustrated by Mark Ruffle, Humanimal takes young readers aged seven to 12 on a journey of discovery and appreciation of all the ways animals are just like humans.

Sarah Colbourne, Fundraising and Partnerships Manager at Humanimal Trust, said: “We are delighted that our collaboration with What on Earth Books, together with the support of our corporate partners, has enabled us to donate copies of Humanimal to Evelina and we sincerely hope they bring a smile to the faces of the many children and young people who are treated there.

"Not only does Humanimal inspire and entertain through its fascinating stories - like the one about bottlenose dolphins wearing sea sponges over their beaks to protect them from sharp coral and rocks - it also contributes to our mission of fostering a deeper understanding of the intrinsic links between all species.”

Dean Joseph, Play Worker at Evelina London's Children’s Hospital, said: “Humanimal Trust’s gift will bring joy and laughter to so many of our patients. I’m sure they will enjoy reading and learning about all the weird and wonderful things we have in common with animals, from laughing rats to bees that vote!”
