Supporter Dawn raises over £4,000 for Humanimal Trust

Our supporters are at the very heart of Humanimal Trust. We are extremely thankful for their loyalty and commitment, especially when it involves extreme fundraising activities with sharks!

In celebration of our 10th anniversary, Dawn Armstrong organised a series of fundraising events, raising over £4,000 for the Trust and culminating in a swim with sharks at Blackpool Sea Life.

Ahead of the big day, Dawn and her friends took to the streets dressed as animals to raise awareness of the charity and her swim, collecting donations along the way. She also organised a fundraising day in her local community, featuring chair pilates sessions, Tai Chi, lots of games and animal bingo.

To further show her support, Dawn donated to our Books for Christmas Appeal, which enabled us to donate copies the wonderful children’s books, Humanimal and We Are All Animals, to children’s hospitals and hospices around the UK. Dawn is also a Regular Giver, which means she gifts a set amount to Humanimal Trust each month, helping us to plan and commit to long-term research projects.

Dawn, said: “I first discovered Humanimal Trust when I read Noel Fitzpatrick's books, and saw videos of him on YouTube, speaking about the charity. I wanted to help by raising awareness of all that Humanimal Trust does. I am very passionate about helping the charity, and have thoroughly enjoyed volunteering. I am excited about doing something with Joe for the Trust’s 11th anniversary this year.”

Joe Bailey, CEO of Humanimal Trust, said: “We want to say a huge and truly heartfelt thank you to Dawn for all her hard work, dedication and enthusiasm in raising this money for Humanimal Trust. Dawn has given her time and efforts organising a number of events to support us, and it really is going above and beyond coming face to face with sharks!"

“At Humanimal Trust we rely entirely on donations – our life-saving research for the benefit of both humans and animals would simply not be possible without the commitment and kindness of supporters like Dawn.”

Thank you, Dawn!
